The Herrin Fire Department is located at 401 South Park. The Fire Department is comprised of 12 full time firefighters, 10 on call firefighters, and a dispatcher/secretary.

Burning:
Allowed from 6:00 am to 6:00 pm (Natural vegetation only!)

Smoke Detectors:
One in each bedroom
One within 10 feet of each bedroom
One on each level of the structure
On new construction or remodelling detectors must be hard wired together
Smoke Detector Giveaway Program - The Herrin Fire Department gives free smoke detectors and batteries to any Herrin resident. Just stop by the Herrin Fire Department at 401 S Park or call 942-6514.
