The Herrin Police Department is located at 321 N 14th Street behind city hall. The Police Department is comprised of 15 full time police officers, 6 full time dispatchers, and an administrative assistant. Herrin Police is an enhanced 911 dispatch center. Herrin Police enforce all state and local laws.

Most Common Laws Strictly Enforced:
No Parking across or on sidewalks
No Parking on city right of way (unless designated parking)
Trucks that weigh 16,000 or more pounds shall not be parked on any residential street.
Parking of trucks, exceeding a weight of 16,000 pounds, on Park Avenue between Cypress Street and Lyerla Street, on the east, and between Cypress Streeet and Walnut Street, on the west shall not exceed two hours.
