Herrin’s Homecoming Celebration is held
in October and includes a parade, golf tournament, football
game, queen’s
court and class reunions. Classmates from throughout the nation return
for this special weekend.
The Herrin Better Business Association sponsors a Christmas
Lighted Parade, Craft Fair and Children’s Theater Production on the Friday
following Thanksgiving.
December is full of Christmas celebrations, from the Crystal Ball held in
the Civic Center, to children’s parties.
An annual Easter Egg Hunt is held at the Herrin City Park
Cruise Night is held downtown on Park Avenue every Friday night during
the summer months. Hundreds of classic and antique cars arrive downtown at
6 p.m., and crowds of people fill the downtown area for food, entertainment
and shopping.
